A practical guide to understanding what Codi Group really wants and how to build a winning response.

It's not just a platform. It's a partnership.

When I read this tender, one thing stands out.

Codi Group isn't just buying software.

They're looking for a partner to help shape how customers influence their business.

That's a different mindset.

This isn't just about delivering a digital platform.

It's about helping Codi's customers become active participants in their business through new methodologies.

The contract covers the design and implementation of an online platform as part of Codi's innovative customer influence framework.

Think about what Codi really wants to achieve

If I were evaluating bids, I'd be looking for more than just a list of platform features.

I'd want to know how your solution will engage customers creatively.

How it will enable them to influence Codi's business effectively.

Remember, the platform is one strand of a broader strategy.

Your response should show how your platform fits into this vision.

Pay attention to what they say

Codi Group is clear about their priorities.

They've launched an "innovative customer influence framework".

Your proposal needs to align with this.

They're interested in how the platform will support a range of online methodologies.

This tells me they're looking for flexibility.

Show them how your platform can adapt to different customer engagement strategies.

Don't just promise. Prove it.

Promises are easy.

Evidence always carries more weight.

If you have examples of similar platforms you've delivered, use them.

Give Codi confidence that you can deliver.

  • Case studies of past successes
  • Testimonials from satisfied clients
  • Demonstrations of platform features

These will set your bid apart.

Your technology is important. But so is your support.

Codi isn't just buying technology.

They're investing in a long-term relationship.

They'll want to know how you'll support them throughout the contract.

Think about:

  • How you'll handle platform updates
  • Your approach to troubleshooting and support
  • How you'll manage customer feedback and adapt the platform

Showing a strong support plan is crucial.

Consider the users

The end users will be Codi's customers.

Think about what matters to them.

They'll want a user-friendly interface.

Easy access to tools that let them engage with Codi.

And, of course, security and privacy will be significant concerns.

Address these in your response.

Consistency over the whole term

One thing I'd keep reminding myself is the importance of consistency.

It's not just about launching the platform.

It's about keeping it running smoothly over the entire contract term.

How will you ensure the platform remains effective and up-to-date?

Consider:

  • Regular performance reviews
  • Continuous improvement strategies
  • Clear plans for handling unexpected issues

One thing I'd keep reminding myself

At the heart of this tender is customer engagement.

Every decision, every feature should come back to this.

I'd ask myself, "Does this help Codi's customers influence their business?"

If it doesn't, rethink it.

Common mistakes

Avoid submissions that:

  • Focus solely on technology features without context
  • Lack evidence of past successes
  • Ignore the importance of user support and training
  • Overlook the need for adaptability and flexibility
  • Fail to address data security and privacy
  • Neglect the long-term vision for customer engagement
  • Present a generic solution instead of a tailored one
  • Underestimate the significance of Codi's influence framework

My Final Thoughts

Codi Group is looking for more than just a digital platform.

They're looking for a partner to help transform how they engage with their customers.

The contract is valued at £200,000 over nearly two years, with the potential to extend to four years.

Given the emphasis on customer influence, quality will likely carry significant weight.

That's what I'd build my submission around.

Thanks for reading.

I hope this guide has helped make public procurement feel a little less daunting. If it has, then it's done its job.
